“Food for Elders” – Innovation Call to Develop Elderly-Friendly Food Products
Singapore is one of the most rapidly ageing countries in the world – by 2030, one in four Singaporeans will be aged 65 and above. This provides both market opportunity and a social need for new food products designed for elderly consumers, given their unique needs and preferences vis-à-vis mainstream consumers.
“Food for Elders” is an initiative under FoodInnovate to assist food companies in developing food products designed for elderly consumers in Singapore. Under the initiative, food companies will develop new elderly-friendly food products that can address problem statements provided by participating hospitals and nursing homes (Lead Entities). Food companies will work with innovation partners in the product development process, as well as with Lead Entities for product validation.
Enterprise Singapore is looking for companies that are interested to develop elderly-friendly food products with features that can address the unique needs and preferences of elderly consumers in Singapore. Companies with selected proposals will work with elder-care institutions and food innovation partners to develop and validate the new food products.
